As someone who straddled the worlds of both illustration and interactive art and design, I was well acquainted and envious of Kevin Cornell's job as staff illustrator for the influential interactive design magazine, A List Apart. When I found that he was retiring from the job in 2012, I sent an email on a whim. They liked my work, and just like that, one of my weird offbeat dreams came true.
